An Event to Remember

I came into the den after giving the dogs their treats, but Chloe wasn't there. She had not been feeling well for the past few days and Katie had taken her to the vet. The Vet said she was having a false pregnancy. As you might expect Mother Ter-Katie was nuturing the precious Shih Tzu in a cacoon like fashion. Just barely were her peek aboo eyes escaping from the pod. I think this had been going on for a good part of the day. Katie transferred the package to me just as she had Jake, Ryan, Nick and Adam............. so gently. As I was sitting, proud as punch, my 91 year old father in law, Pop, as I call him asked if he could take a peek at his grandbaby? I said "sure" and he gently eased back the blanket saying "she is beautiful...who's baby is that, Adam's"? Im not sure how long it took Katie to quit laughing, but it was a while. When we gained our composure the swap was made back to the original party. I went to the kitchen and after a while returned to see Pop walking to the couch to gain another glance at "precious". I could not help but hide and watch. As Katie held little Miss in her arms her dad uncovered the "child" and said "she is so beautiful, a little dark though".
